This was definitely a movie.

I am obviously a very biased person, since I am a person at all. And I am not a big fan of romances, so that probably affected by opinion on this movie. My sister, on the other hand, is a nearly exclusive romance movie watcher, and she loved it. So maybe it's just my bias talking when I say I really did not enjoy this movie.

I mean, I feel like in order to make a romance or drama good, you need good characters. That's just kinda what I think. But all the characters in this movie are just annoying. The main guy is annoying, which I'll go into main detail about in the spoilers, and the love interest is annoying, and the main character's brother is annoying, and everyone surrounding them is juts annoying! It makes it very hard to like this movie when all the characters suck.

Also, my mom loved this movie as a kid, and reminisced on how this movie was very funny back when. Watching it again with her, she commented afterwards on how the jokes just weren't right. And I agree!

I think that this movie would have been very funny in the 80's, during the time of sitcoms where actors would take big pauses after jokes for the laughtrack to sound. But since this movie was still in that time yet laughtrackless, it just made these big awkward pauses after every joke which made the landing very awkward and less funny.

So, this movie has bad characters and also wasted funny. BUT! I guess the main plot is pretty good. The ending sucked, and yeah it was kinda stereotypical, but at the same time it was also very new and nice.

Also, the special effects were pretty good, and so was the acting, considering how long all of the actors had to hold their breath.

I guess it's not a bad movie, necessarily, but it's more of just an okay movie. I don't think it deserves any star treatment or anything. It was fun to watch? Kind of?

I don't know. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't good. And there isn't really much else to say about that.

The main character was SO ANNOYING. Literally he was like head over heels obsessed with this RANDOM LADY??? like bro it's not true love if ur just cracking this one lady like please just shut up...

And also when he got pressed bc she didnt want to marry him? STOP!

He's so annoying like i forget the exact examples but ooooomfg he's so irritating.

Also that ending was straight poo. Ur spending the rest of your life underwater bc of a girl you met like a week ago?

Maybe this is all a big metaphor for true love that I don't get, but I don't like it. Booooo.

Do I like this guy? Not necessarily. Is he the best out of all the middest options? I suppose.

Originally, I was going to say that it was Freddie, but that guy was lowkey really annoying and like didn't do anything. So now we're stuck with this guy.

What to say, what to say... I like scientific characters? Also he had a change of heart but no duh...

Idk. This guy was also mid. There are no good options here but I don't want to make this movie look extremely bad so ig I'll choose this guy cuz he was awkward and nerdy and ever so slightly less annoying than all the other schmucks.
